Jefferson Classical Guitar Society meets
on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm. We begin
gathering at 6:00 pm for those who like to socialize a bit .
We try to start our proceedings as close to 6:30 as possible.
From 6:30 to 7:00 we deal with any society business which may
need discussing. Promptly at 7:00 we get down to the business
of playing for one another. Our players are young and old, amateurs
and professionals, and skill levels range from beginners to advanced.
Our emphasis is on creating a welcomingand supportive environment
conducive to the performance of music for the classical guitar.
Through a generous offer from the management
of Paschal Winery,
our meetings are at their beautiful tasting room. Paschal Winery
is situated on top of a knoll near the southern Oregon town of
Talent amidst rolling hills covered by vineyards and pear orchards.
Large windows on three of the four walls take advantage of the
exquisite views of the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains as well
as the southern reaches of the Rogue Valley. Our first Jefferson
Classical Guitar Society meeting at Paschal Winery took place
on Tuesday April 2, 2002 and was a big success. There was a good
sized turn out and everyone found Paschal's ambience to be ideal
for our monthly gathering. And the acoustics in their tasting
room were perfect for our beloved classical guitar. Over time,
the association between JCGS and Paschal Winery has proven to
be mutually beneficial and the tasting room has become our home
and regular meeting place.
Our very first meeting was on October 5th,
2001. We have met the first Tuesday of every month since that
day. All are welcome. Come and participate or just observe. If
you are curious as to what we have been up to, check out the
link to our Archives Page at the bottom of this page.
Directions to Paschal Winery:
